Expo

Expo works seamlessly with Box, Dropbox, Google Drive, and OneDrive, making it simple to find, organize, and use the content you need regardless of where it is stored. Create perfectly tailored presentations, have more engaging conversations, and share follow-up materials like never before.

Prototype to Real Life
When we first started working on Expo it was in its early prototype stages. We transformed the app from a good demo into an amazing working product. This involved writing a syncing engine that made sure users had the latest content, ensuring that the app handled offline usage gracefully, and updating the UI so that the look and feel of the app was totally customizable for each user’s business. We also added all of the little things that make for a great user experience, including implementing a smooth onboarding and cloud connection experience for first time users.

Custom Presentation Mode
Since Expo is built mainly around the presenting content we wanted to make sure that the presentation experience was as polished as possible. We completely rewrote the presentation code and optimized it so that the user could showcase their content elegantly. We also wrote a custom PDF renderer to handle even the most complicated files gracefully. Custom page transitions and a unique multi-document navigation round out an experience that helps users showcase their content unlike any other app on the market.

Highly Polished Interface
Outside of presentations, Expo retains its high since of style. Files are presented in visual galleries with generous thumbnails alongside their file names and types. A user can create collections and dynamically resize the files added to those collections. A gesture based sidebar helps a user navigate through their content effortlessly. Modals pop up and gracefully display follow up items before they are shared via email. And Expo is ready for white-labelling, which means that every company can customize the interface with their own branding by simply adding their logo and specifying their brand’s primary and secondary colors.

Client Feedback

I would give LunarLincoln high marks across the board. I’ve met and worked with everyone on the team in some capacity, and I think they are all extremely talented and capable in their respective roles. Jonathan Wiley has been my primary point of contact, and he is awesome to work with in every respect—responsive, intelligent, supportive, and always willing to discuss the pros and cons of a particular approach or use of technology. I’ve always felt that he wants my project to be successful as much as I do.

XOi Technologies

XOEye equips field technicians with wearable technology systems that capture and share the right information with the right people at the right time.  XOEye’s custom applications communicate with experts, connect with decision-makers, document work performed, and increase overall efficiency.

VOIP and Streaming Video
We integrated a custom Voice Over IP solution with streaming video for one-to-one as well as conference calling between technicians in the field and their expert supervisors at the home office.

Secure Data
Data captured by technicians are stored in a secure interface and works with frequent service outages in remote field locations. Customers can be confident that the key details of their business infrastructure are not in a technician’s personal camera roll.

Unparalleled Reliability
With thousands of hours of app usage and counting, we have been able to achieve the highest standards of reliability, with an error rate of less than 0.2% per session.

Design and Branding Updates
We worked with the XOEye team to develop a simple to user interface for field technicians for both iOS and Android platforms.

We also implemented a light refresh of their internal web dashboard: Vision. For this task, it was important to maintain a familiar layout while also simplifying and aligning the elements to mirror the mobile UI.

Client Feedback

LunarLincoln has been an incredible partner to XOEye Technologies. I use the word ‘partner’ very specifically…they are much more than a software vendor to us. Lunar’s ability to complete strong work on a tight timeline has allowed our business the flexibility to use internal resources in a more specialized way, ultimately driving process efficiency while allowing us to stay lean.

A business should work with Lunar for many reasons: strong code, timeliness, and accountability. The thing that stands out is their attitude. In working with the several members of their team, I have found their calm and positive countenance a real benefit compared to other external vendors we have worked with. If you are looking for a strong external engineering resource with a team that actually has a personality, you should work with LunarLincoln.

LunarLincoln has been a great asset to us as an external development resource. After many challenging experiences with external resources, they have stood head and shoulders above the rest with timely and outstanding work, at a reasonable price. In addition, their devotion to a true partnership has been phenomenal, specifically as it relates to rushed priorities and advisory assistance. I would highly recommend them.

Bkon & Phy.net

BKON gives brands the power to curate Physical Web experience through their PHY.net app. Using the same technologies that power the Internet – the Physical Web’s URL-based delivery means that existing web content can easily be repurposed for use in app-based proximity campaigns.

Although anyone can access Physical Web content with a smartphone and an open beacon browser like Chrome, brands also have the power to curate experiences with the Physical Web SDK and the PHY.net iOS and Android apps.

Rich Graphics
Using a website’s existing schema and metadata – the PHY.net app pulls rich images and site content for a fuller, more informative experience. The user interface has been optimized with parallax branding and custom card interactions to add that extra bit of polish to stand above the rest.

White-labeling
Interested your own custom version of the PHY.net app for a business or event? No problem! The app has been constructed so that new versions are a breeze to set up. Have a one-of-a-kind build ready to go to the App store in minutes. You can find examples of the white-labeled features in action below: Nashville Oktoberfest App or Nashville Sounds Gameday App

LunarLincoln took our concept and elevated it beyond what we expected. We wanted X, and we got Y and Z without even asking. They helped us overcome some serious technical issues and we couldn’t have launched it as fast as we did without them. Knowing we wanted a modular, scalable app, that we could re-skin and build new features on top of, the team at Lunar Lincoln helped us organize our thoughts, and the craft the foundation that lets us do that and more. LunarLincoln are good people doing good work. That’s what it boils down to. Honest, open communication is valuable. We really do sincerely appreciate that. Small or large… startup or a mature company, LunarLincoln has the talent and process in place to manage a project’s scope and their customer’s expectations.

Band in Hand

Band in Hand gives worship bands of all sizes the ability to rearrange songs, change keys and tempos, loop song sections, and adjust their mixes in real-time. And with its Live Sync feature up to 5 devices can stay in sync with the master track while having control over their own audio mixing levels.

Feature-Rich Track Editing Capabilities
Band in Hand gives you full control over your tracks during rehearsals and services. Rearrange or remove sections of songs to tailor your music to your worship. For the perfect setlist, change keys and tempos for seamless transitions. Loop sections of a song for perfecting a tricky verse in rehearsal or extending a song during worship. Play along with a click track and a custom mix of any other instruments, or even solo an instrument to get the most out of your practice sessions.

Everything In One App
Forget having to keep track of sheet music. With Band in Hand you can view your sheet music right in the app. And you can rest assured that your perfect mix is preserved by saving your custom edited tracks. Stay organized by creating set lists for services. If you’re short on band members Band in Hand can even fill in missing parts.

Goodbye Expensive Monitoring Systems
Using local WiFi or Bluetooth and custom syncing technology, Band in Hand can sync up to 5 iOS devices and effectively replace your monitoring system. Live Sync allows one device to become the master and control the playback of the other synced devices during worship or rehearsal. Each device can have its own mix, allowing each band member to hear what they need to hear while staying on beat with the rest of the band.

LunarLincoln is the only development agency I trust with our mobile app. The app has required some highly technical and detailed work on unique ideas and features, and LunarLincoln has been able to do everything I’ve asked of them. I’ve tried a number of other development companies in Nashville and other cities but never felt as well-taken care of as with LunarLincoln. I know that Wiley, Jennifer, and the rest of the team are trustworthy and have my interest in mind in all their work and communication. I never feel out of the loop, and the quality of their work is outstanding. I would recommend LunarLincoln to anyone looking for high-quality development.

Treadlab – Emory University

The TReAD Lab studies the behavioral and neurobiological determinants of cost/benefit decision-making in healthy individuals, as well as in patients with mental illness. Their research focuses on the neural circuitry that underlies cost/benefit decision-making and how we can use this knowledge to more efficiently target treatments for affective disorders.

TReAD Lab needed a way to run their tests more often, with less hassle. LunarLincoln leveraged Apple’s ResearchKit framework to provide a foundation for their lab tests. Now participants can run tests and add to their data daily, without visits to the lab.

Proper Permissions
Leveraging Apple’s ResearchKit framework, we are able to present the permissions and legalese in an approachable manner with animations and smaller sets of explanation.

Innovations from Matlab
LunarLincoln converted Matlab scripts into simpler, welcoming UI in order to make the lab tests more user friendly and approachable.

Richer Data
Data now can be gathered in more realistic settings than at the lab. In the lab or on the go, users can always pull out their phones and help improve modern science.

Customizable Data Sets
Lab administrators can dynamically craft interactive experiments including surveys, reaction-time tests, opinion sliders, and many more with ResearchKit components.

Griffin Technology

Griffin Technology designs and manufactures computer peripherals, consumer electronics, and accessories for smartphones and mobile devices. LunarLincoln aided Griffin Technology with several projects ranging from cutting-edge research and development and prototyping to maintaining an SDK used by developers to build apps for Griffin’s point of sale offerings.

Olli
Designed around iPhone 5s and iPod touch (5th Generation), Olli Retail is a handheld point-of-sale solution with a built-in barcode scanner and industry-standard credit card encryption. Griffin’s Olli Retail enables retailers to expedite their customers through the checkout process away from traditional point-of-sale terminals. Olli Retail can be used for data capture, point-of-sale, inventory, ID verification, and medical use.

LunarLincoln aided in extending and maintaining the Olli SDK, a software development kit that allows vendors to seamlessly integrate with Olli hardware in their applications. By gaining an intimate knowledge of Apple’s External Accessory Framework we were able to help Griffin extend the capabilities offered through the SDK and helped fix any issues that arose with the launch of new versions of iOS.

PowerMate
PowerMate is a wireless programmable controller that replaces extra keystrokes with a simple twist or a click.  It’s user-configurable, so it can control practically any Mac application out there. PowerMate Bluetooth connects to your compatible Mac wirelessly via Bluetooth 4.0. Once connected,  the PowerMate app allows you to add your own actions and replace an app’s repetitive keyboard commands.

LunarLincoln developed a completely new application to help users pair and configure the PowerMate with OS X. Since everyone uses their PowerMate in a unique way, LunarLincoln came up with a strategy to scan a user’s applications for keyboard shortcuts to make customizing the PowerMate’s functionality a snap.

Joyride

Joyride

Joyride is a shuttle service providing quick transportation in multiple cities across the southeast. They offer the country’s first ever tips-only ride service and the best tours of the city. Set your pick-up/drop-off location, get connected to your personal driver, and check the progress of your Joyride at any time.

Joyride is a local shuttle service that has been growing by leaps and bounds. Ride demand has exceeded available drivers and the current phone-based ride request system is no longer ideal. LunarLincoln built all facets of their new mobile app system, which included a server backend as well as a driver and customer app for both iOS and Android. The new ride request system will allow for greater analytical data on their clientele as well as removing the burden of rider communication from Joyride drivers.

Dual Development
Building both a driver and customer app in parallel requires tight communication between the developers, designers, and clients to make sure the two apps work seamlessly together. By designing these apps in parallel we were able to streamline the ride process from the time a client requests a ride to the time a driver drops them at their destination. This perspective allowed us to build apps that played well together.

Payment Systems
We integrated a new payment system using the Stripe platform for seamless tip collection. Driver’s no longer have to carry large amounts of cash, and tip totals are automatically calculated at the end of the shift.

Feature Parity Across Platforms
Whether you’re an iOS or Android user, you’ll feel right at home in your respective apps. Instead of designing for one platform and making a carbon copy for the other, we custom tailored the UI and UX so that users on each platform were able to get a familiar experience for their device.

CaseCollage for 5C

Casecollage for 5C

A LunarLincoln original: CaseCollage lets you add your own personality and design to the new iPhone 5c case. Use the case holes as frames for your artwork, friends, and interests. Take your dots to a new dimension when you create and print your own custom cases.

CaseCollage is a LunarLincoln app. Originally conceived of as a “wouldn’t it be nice” weekend project, CaseCollage was an experiment in navigating the waters of product and market launch for ourselves.

Idea
Apple released the iPhone 5c model in 2013. A departure from their sleek aluminum styles, the 5c came in bright plastic colors. To “compliment” these colorful phones were equally colorful cases with circular cutouts to display the new phone body. The Apple fanboy community HATED IT. Who knew 35 little circles could engender so much bad press? Light bulb moment: What if we could fix the holes and give them some real utility. Thus CaseCollage was born. A simple solution to something the internet could not stop whining about.

Process
Simple still requires work. Over two weeks we built prototypes, tested them, refined designs and feature set, and on day 14 – placed our app into the app store for review. We also spent several days crafting our public release with a website, press kit, and media list. To learn more about each of these journeys – visit our blog for the entire CaseCollage series.

Results
The press was glad to continue writing about this “travesty of design” and our modest solution. We received articles from several major news sites. Over 100,000 YouTube views and almost 25,000 downloads. 1.41 million images were added to canvases. From a user standpoint, we discovered that the majority of our users were tweens and we pivoted our marketing efforts to Instagram. Happy to fill their cases with photos of Taylor Swift and their pets, our users are still downloading the app even today.
